Setup and Operating Instructions:

• The IMMS Devices are Android Pixels with no cellular connectivity. They only work when connected to Wi-Fi.
• All staff working with materials movements should be familiar with how these devices operate.
• IMMS Devices are pre-programed with the apps required to use the IMMS software. IMMS, IMMS Scanner Controller for connecting to an RFID Wand and Symphony Mobile Circ for reference.
• IMMS Device pass codes will be the Quarter for the calendar year expressed as 2 digits + the calendar year expressed as 4 digits. QQYYYY. For example, in March 2025, the pass code is: 012025.
• Pass codes should be changed on the first day of each quarter. A good time to do this is with the distribution of the Shared Passwords email that goes out to all locations.
• The device will not let any apps be opened when the pass code has expired.

In order to make sure there is system-wide consistency in use of the IMMS devices they must be: 

• Used only for IMMS related work.
• Charged each night.
• Cleaned regularly. Information on cleaning practices can be found here.
