IMMS - item grouping reference guide

IMMS requires us to build a configuration of how the collection is laid out in a branch.
Each branch configuration in IMMS comprises a collection of bays 'Locations' and a range of items that can be placed into each bay 'Item Definitions'.

The combination of a location and which items live in that location are called 'Item Groupings'.

To build an item grouping, MCL librarians typically use a combination of a home location code combined with a call number range.
While the process of creating item groupings is largely repeatable, we maintain an Item Grouping Reference Guide that showcases different examples of how to define item groupings to represent different parts of our collection.

Item Grouping Reference Guide

This guide is a resource for any Librarian or other staff member working on draft configurations in IMMS and displays typical and atypical examples of item groupings.
