IMMS Quick Guide - Checking in without AMH (bookdrop or single items)

Checking in using Symphony

Note: This procedure applies to local checkin (bookdrop) only. To process return crates use this workflow.

  1. Make sure your Holds and Shelve Chutes have Transport Units (TUs) attached.
  2. Use Symphony to check items in. Symphony will assign the items to Chutes.
IMPORTANT: You need to watch the screen to see what Chute each item is assigned to, as there will not be pop-ups for non-hold items being routed to other branches.
    1. TRANSIT - Place the item into any outgoing TU. There is no need for any IMMS action.
    2. HOLDS - Print and insert the hold slip, and place the item onto the TU attached to the Holds chute.
    3. SHELVE - Place the item onto the TU attached to your Shelve chute.
  3. Replace full TUs as needed.
