Procedure
When holds on Pageturners To Go kits are received, place them behind the service desk for patrons to pick up.
When Pageturners To Go kits are returned, check them in and route them to OPS.
Pageturners To Go kits have a loan period of 6 weeks. Other loan rules are standard and the kits may be renewed.
There is no charge for missing books and staff do not need to count books upon return.
If there’s an issue with a kit or bag, or if you discover that there are fewer than 8 copies in the bag, send it to Systemwide Events & Reader Services (SERS) at OPS. Continue to circulate kits that have 8 or more copies. Once a year at OPS, kits will be weeded for condition or if there are fewer than 8 copies.
Kits must be returned during open hours because they are too large to fit into library book drops.
Rationale
Pageturners To Go kits are books provided by Friends of the Library for book groups to use. The kits allow groups of people to have access to the one title for a longer loan period, without staff intervention.
