The Multnomah County Library returns new items which are defective to the vendor within specified guidelines.
Rationale
By returning defective items to the vendor, the library maintains control over the quality of newly purchased materials.
Procedure
- Check out the item to your Problem Shelf.
- Send the defective copy to Technical Services - Defective Item with a note specifying exactly what the defect is. Technical Services will then evaluate what steps are next needed.
