Self-paced learning
The Multnomah County Library Staff Academy is a great first stop for self-paced learning about work at MCL.
The academy includes tutorials on:
- Circulation, materials movement and information services topics
- Equity and inclusion
- Safety
- Technology
- Training for supervisors and for new employees
- And more
Accessing the academy
If you have never used Niche Academy (the platform for the MCL Staff Academy) before, you will need to create a login:
- Access the MCL Staff Academy
- Use your MCL email address and create a password. The password does not have to be the same as your network password, and will not change when your network password changes.
- If you need help signing up, or if you have other support needs for the MCL Staff Academy, contact Learning and Organizational Development (lib-learning-and-OD@multco.us) Once you have signed up, you can find the MCL Staff Academy at https://my.nicheacademy.com/mulcolib-staff.
Workday training and the MCL Staff Academy
Some library-specific Workday training includes a link to the MCL Staff Academy. When you sign up for a course in Workday that sends you to the Staff Academy, you should check back in Workday once you’ve finished the Staff Academy tutorial - you may need to acknowledge the completion in Workday in order to finish the course.

Go back to the course in Workday by clicking on the Resume Course button.
