Focus: serving youth ages 9-12

Priorities

  • Prioritize, lead, suggest, evaluate and/or consult on tween services projects.
  • Develop and disseminate tools, resources and mentorship for staff that support tween services.
  • Identify, coordinate and/or present relevant professional development opportunities for library staff.
  • Consult and advocate with library decision makers in the areas of best practices, educational opportunities, trends, and possible new initiatives in tween services. Team is always a stakeholder in policies, decisions, projects and services affecting tweens.
  • Facilitate collaboration among tween services stakeholders. Stakeholders include, but are not necessarily limited to We Speak Your Language, Black Cultural Library Advocates, Indigenous Staff, and Systemwide Events and Readers Services staff, tweens, and community partners.
  • Provide regular opportunities for tween services stakeholders to network, problem-solve, and share information.
  • Support and continue to develop ongoing initiatives including tween-created and tween-friendly policies and services.
