Library Learning and Organizational Development Manager
  • Staff Technology Trainer - Morgan is the lead systemwide training for staff related to technology.
  • Safety and Security Trainer - Ian is the lead trainer for safety and security within the library. He oversees training related to person in charge, Crisis Prevention Institute's - Non-violent Intervention training, Library Safety Liaison training & more
  • Tess is the Access Services trainer, focusing on circulation training, materials movement training and training and professional development for Access Services employees.
  • Information Services Training Librarian: Laural oversees development and delivery of information services training for staff, including the core reference training required for staff working in info services classifications, and continuing education
  • Lisa is the Learning and Development Specialist, concentrating on manager training, leadership development and organizational development.
  • Organizational Development and Change Management Advisor - Kate provides change management and organizational development support for projects, initiatives and for individuals and teams.
  • Organizational Development/Change Management Advisor
    Organizational Development and Change Management Advisor - David provides change management and organizational development support for projects, initiatives and for individuals and teams.
  • Ulrike is responsible for supporting Workday Learning and the MCL Staff Academy.lu

What we do

Learning + Organizational Development (L+OD) takes responsibility for the training and organizational development needs of our staff and organization, making sure they have the programs and services needed to thrive in an ever changing environment. You probably know us best for the variety of training programs we provide including onboarding, new employee orientation, materials movement and circulation training, information services training, PIC training, and soft skills courses. In addition, we partner with HR and the executive management team members to provide coaching, team building, facilitation, mediation, change management and a variety of other organizational development services.  

L+OD is responsive to requests for staff training as they arise, but careful to examine these requests through the filter of the MCL Priorities. We strive for a strategic deployment of our limited training resources. In addition, we actively promote and advocate for the use of new technologies in improving training throughout the library system.
