Quick Facts

  • When staff can’t find a hold on the holdshelf, check the item out to the MISSING card.  Symphony will keep the patron at the top. We no longer need to cancel and replace the hold.
  • This procedure is for cancelling a hold directly from a patron's account.
  • If you are canceling a hold from a hold slip, when the hold was picked up by another person, you can remove the hold by entering the item barcode from the slip into the Remove Item Hold wizard.

Procedure

To cancel the hold:

1. Go to the Check Out wizard.

2. Find the patron and then right click on the hold you want to remove. Select Remove Hold from the drop down list.

3. Click Remove Hold.

4. A box will appear that confirms the hold was cancelled, click Close.
