Policy

Library patron telephone numbers may not be local calls in the Multnomah County Library Free Service Area. Patrons often keep cell phone numbers when they move into the local area, and consequently have long distance numbers. In such cases, the call cannot go through. 

Procedure

To call a long-distance telephone number:

Dial 9.555, then the area code and telephone number. such as 9.555.503.222.5555.

After the beeps, enter your individual long-distance code. If you do not have a long-distance code, please contact IT directly to request one at Service Now. Search for long distance code, then select Telecom Request. Fill out appropriate information and submit request.
