Guidelines for rule 5

Rule

Rule 5: Improperly using library restrooms, including, but not limited to, bathing, shaving or washing hair, or any activity that prevents other patrons from using the facilities.

Guidelines

Patrons who violate this rule are given up to one warning at the discretion of staff and then excluded for the day. If possible, warnings should include the caution that if the behavior is repeated, the patron will be asked to leave.

Further violations of this rule remain a one day exclusion.

Patrons may brush their teeth, perform ablutions, brush hair, apply makeup, etc. as long as it doesn’t take more than a few minutes or prevent other patrons from using the facilities.

Patrons cannot shave or dye/wash their hair due to the mess it creates and length of time required to complete the task.

Patrons cannot remove clothing in the shared area (sink and counter space) to bathe due to mess, time, and disruption from nudity.
