Quick Facts
- Home Delivery is the name for services formerly called Library Outreach Services or LOS.
- Patrons who cannot visit the library, but want library services, can call the Contact Center at 503.988.5123 for options.
- Contact Center or Home Delivery staff will review service options with patrons, set user profiles and update contact information.
- Home Delivery staff will also do reader's advisory and help patrons navigate books-by-mail services and former LOS services (lobby visits, deposit collections, senior center book groups, etc.). If the patron CANNOT choose their own titles and CANNOT place their own holds, create a Knowledge Tracker ticket and include that this is a Home Delivery patron.
- Any front line or Contact Center staff member can provide direct assistance to patrons who already have Home Delivery (LOS) user profiles with placing holds to be mailed and creating or managing accounts in Libby, Hoopla or Kanopy.
- Front line staff can update contact information (addresses, phone numbers, email, etc), but will not change user profiles or any other details specifically about Home Delivery. Please refer these issues to the Contact Center.
- Important: do not give patrons former LOS contact information. The former LOS phone number (503.988.5404) and the former LOS email (lib.adult.outreach@multco.us) are no longer monitored by staff.
Policy
Home Delivery patrons have 8-week loan periods for physical items and 6-weeks loan periods for Libby/OverDrive. Their holds stay on the holdshelf for 2 weeks because patrons may have trouble getting to the library.
