Quick Facts
If you need to know the amount of a patron’s bill
- From the Check Out wizard Click here to view what this looks like in Symphony. These two amounts added together are the patron’s total bill.
- From the Paying Bills wizard Click here to view what this looks like in Symphony.
Procedure
To view in Check Out Wizard
If a patron’s total bills are over $50, you will see a pop up box like the one below. Select “Enter to Override & Checkout To User”. On the next pop up, enter a “Y” or “y” in the User block override to continue to the check out screen.
The Check Out screen shows three different panes:
- List of checkouts - what the patron is checking out right now. No bills are shown in this pane.
- Current user checkouts - What the patron has previously checked out and is still checked out to them.
- Bills - What the patron has already been billed and still owes.
For example:
This patron has a total bill of $52.95 (over $50) and can not check out without a staff override.
From the Paying Bills Wizard
If a patron would like to pay a bill, the Individual Bills and Payments amount ($52.95) can be paid.
