The Periodical Section at Central Library owns two microfilm reader printers that can save images as .pdf files. This feature allows access to articles on microfilm for patrons who are blind or have low vision. While these computers do not have access to JAWS screen reading or ZoomText Magnification software, the file(s) can be saved to a flash drive or diskette and used at an ADA station or attached to reference questions through the Ask the Librarian service, L-Net E-mail, or regular e-mail. If the patron wishes to access the file in the library, please follow your branches guidelines for accessing the ADA stations. The library does not train its staff to use JAWS or ZoomText, so the patron must be familiar with these programs prior to use.
