Quick Facts

• Patrons can access phone renewals 24/7.
• Patrons must have a numeric password/PIN to use the automated phone service.  Patron's can change their password/PIN online or through the Contact Center.
• Contact Center Hours are Monday-Thursday 9 am to 8 pm, Friday-Saturday 9 am to 6 pm, and Sunday 9 am to 5 pm.
• The automated renewal system can be difficult to use, fees may be waived if items did not renew using the system.

Procedure

1. Dial the contact center 503-988-5123.
2. Welcome Message.
3. Select 1 for English, 2 for Spanish.
4. Select from these menu options during open hours:

1 Automated renewals and account information.

2 for library hours.

3 to speak to a staff member.

Account Options Menu

1 Renewals (renew 1 item, renew all items, hear a list of items by title to renew).

2 Holds (lists available holds and unavailable holds by title).

3 Account Status (states the number of items checked out and on hold).

4 To hear a list of holds and loan items (states the number of items checked out and on hold, lists items by title and gives the option to renew individual items).

5 list of holds that are not currently available.

States the number of items currently on loan and on hold.

Tip

When the Contact Center is closed the phone message states, "You have reached Multnomah County Library. The library is now closed. Press 1 for Automated Renewals. You can manage your account online anytime by visiting our website at www.multcolib.org, that is w-w-w-.-m-u-l-t-c-o-l-i-b-.-o-r-g. To speak to a library staff member, please call back during regular business hours. Phone hours are Monday through Thursday 9 am to 8 pm, Friday through Saturday 9 am to 6 pm, and Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm. To repeat this message, press 8."
