- Patrons must have a 4-digit numeric password/pin in order to use the phone renewal
Procedure
Patrons using the automated renewal system must use 4-digit numeric-only PIN/passwords. This is something we cannot change at this time. Patrons may update their PIN/passwords online or by contacting the library.
The "renew all" feature lists item barcodes, not titles. To renew all items and hear a list of titles and due dates:
- From the automated menu, follow the menu to renew all items. This will renew all items that are not on hold.
- As soon as the system starts renewing, press *. This will take you back to the main menu.
- Press 2 to access the Checked Out Items Menu, then press 1 to hear a list of titles checked out. This will give patrons a list of all items out with the due dates.
Tip
The automated renewal system can be difficult for patrons to use successfully. Charges may be waived if items did not renew using this system. Common problems include:
- Items are renewed by barcode, not title.
- A patron must either press the * key or stay on the line until all items are renewed.
- A patron must go back and choose to hear a list of titles checked out to hear titles and due dates.

Policy
The library offers account access by telephone 24 hours per day. Patrons may renew materials, hear a list of items checked out, hear a list of items on hold and hear a list of outstanding charges.

This service allows patrons to access account information and renew materials at all times.
