Policy
Library card barcodes may be replicated and put on a new card or two-card set if patrons turn in broken or worn cards or if patrons want a new style of card.
Patrons may have up to two cards with the same barcode number. If they turn in one, they may get a new card with that barcode.
Barcode numbers cannot be replicated for lost or stolen cards. If a card, either a single card or one card of a two-card set, are lost, patrons should get new barcode numbers and update their passwords for their protection.
If the patron says that the card has not been lost or stolen, ask the patron if someone else might have access to the card or card number.
- If yes, the card number should be replaced to avoid unauthorized access.
- If no, staff may replicate the old barcode number.
