Policy

The Library will provide a safe and orderly environment for its customers and staff.

Application

Refer to Policy Governing the Use of the Multnomah County Library for general guidelines on the library's rules of behavior. View the library's Behavior Rules.

Procedure

If a person is disturbing the library environment follow the procedure below:

All Locations:

1. If possible, alert another staff member as a witness.
2. If the problem is not an immediate emergency, call the PIC and/or security personnel.
3. If it is an emergency (life, safety, or property are in immediate danger, call 9-911).
4. Keep other people out of the way.
5. Complete an incident report as soon as possible.
6. In case of a critical incident, contact EMT PIC.
